The Briar
The Briar was designed for those who carry more cards and less cash, while still demanding the same durability, craftsmanship, and long-term reliability Webb&Hide is built on. Strong, practical, and purpose-built — this wallet focuses on smart construction and proven materials rather than unnecessary bulk or complication.
Like every Webb&Hide piece, The Briar is 100% handmade from start to finish using only traditional hand tools. No machines. No shortcuts. Just honest craftsmanship.
Premium American Leather — Horween Dublin
The Briar is crafted from 4–5oz Horween Dublin leather in English Tan, made by the legendary Horween Leather Company (Chicago, USA) — one of the oldest and most respected tanneries in the world, operating since 1905.
Horween Dublin is:
-Vegetable tanned and hot-stuffed with natural oils and waxes
-Known for its strength, durability, and flexibility
-Designed to develop deep patina and character over time
-Resistant to cracking and drying due to its rich oil content
This leather doesn’t wear out — it wears in, telling the story of its owner through years of daily use.
Smart Construction — One-Piece Strength
The Briar features a folded-over pocket design, allowing the wallet to comfortably hold more cards while minimizing stitching. Fewer stitch lines means fewer potential failure points, increasing long-term durability and reliability.
Approximately 95% of The Briar is constructed from a single piece of leather, giving it:
Greater structural integrity
Fewer weak points
Cleaner construction
Long-term durability under daily use
Hand-Stitched for Strength — Ritza Tiger Thread (1.0mm)
All stitching is done completely by hand using Ritza Tiger Thread, 1.0mm, one of the toughest threads used in leathercraft.
Ritza Tiger Thread is:
-Made from high-tenacity braided polyester
-Highly abrasion resistant
-Waxed for moisture resistance and longevity
-Known for excellent tensile strength and long life
Unlike machine stitching, hand saddle stitching will not unravel if a stitch is ever damaged, ensuring the wallet stays intact for years of real use.
Hand-Finished Edges
Edges are hand burnished, sealing and compressing the leather fibers for:
-Smooth, durable edges
-Increased resistance to wear and moisture
-A clean, natural finish that improves with age
An optional Edge Kote upgrade is available for those who prefer a darker finished edge.
Available Edge Kote Colors come in Mahogany, Dark Brown and Black
The Briar is designed primarily for card-focused carry, while still allowing space for occasional cash. It has been tested to comfortably hold up to 10 cards and 2 quarter-folded bills, breaking in overtime to naturally form to your carry.
