FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are your products really handmade?
Yes. Every Webb & Hide piece is cut, stitched, and finished by hand in our Massachusetts workshop using primarily hand tools only. No mass production. No shortcuts.
What leather do you use?
We primarily use Horween Dublin leather, a premium full-grain leather tanned in Chicago using traditional methods. It is oil and wax rich, extremely durable, and designed to age with character.
Will my leather change over time?
Yes — and it should. Full-grain leather develops patina, meaning it will darken slightly, soften, and gain character through use. Marks, tone shifts, and wear patterns are natural and part of genuine leather.
Why does my item look slightly different from photos?
Every hide is unique. Natural grain, markings, and slight color variation from Horween’s tanning process are normal and not defects. No two pieces are exactly alike — that is the nature of real leather.
Are your products made to order?
Most items are made by hand after your order is placed. Typical build time is 3–7 business days, depending on demand. Ready-to-ship items will ship faster.
Do you accept returns?
Because each item is handmade, returns are not automatically accepted and are handled at the discretion of Webb & Hide on a case-by-case basis. See our Returns & Warranty page for full details.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Webb & Hide stands behind its craftsmanship. We guarantee our products against workmanship defects under normal use. See our Returns & Warranty page for full details.
Do you offer repairs?
Yes. We offer lifetime repair support for craftsmanship-related issues under normal use. If your item ever needs repair, contact us and we will evaluate the best solution. Some repairs may be free, while others (such as heavy wear or accidental damage) may require a small service fee. See our Returns & Warranty page for full details.
Is leather waterproof?
Leather is naturally resistant but not waterproof. Light moisture is fine, but heavy water exposure should be avoided. If leather becomes wet, allow it to air dry naturally — never apply heat.
How do I care for my leather?
Very little maintenance is required. Use it, carry it, and let it age naturally. Occasional light conditioning with Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP can help maintain durability and water resistance when needed. See our Product Care page for full guidance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — to select countries. International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes, and delays outside our control.
How long will my wallet last?
With normal use and basic care, a Webb & Hide piece is built to last many years — often decades. Full-grain leather and hand stitching are chosen for longevity, not disposability.
Where are your products made?
Every item is handmade in Massachusetts, USA.
